I just purchased my first camper - a 1968 Shasta Compact. I'm too excited for words. I've always enjoyed camping but a friend got me interested in vintage trailers a while back. I have a toyota highlander so towing weight was definitely a concern for me. Once I saw the Shasta's I knew that was what I had to have. I bring her home in a few weeks but my mind is already spinning with the renovation & upgrade planning. She's is in pretty good condition considering her age but still needs some work. We'll be using her and renovating at the same time so I'd love any & all comments & suggestions re: compacts, towing, camping, etc.

Heidi,
Did you get that trailer? I understand your excitement! Have you had a chance to access the extent of repairs/restoration you're going to have to do? My advice, take pictures throughout the process, it's always fun to look back and see what you've done. Do you have any to share with us in the forum yet?
I hope you are having a good time, either repairing, restoring or camping.
Doug
