Hello everyone, It is good to see another trailers site. You get so much information from these forums it is not even funny. My wife Susan and I got into restoring vintage trailers a couple of years ago. We have bought and improved a 60's Kit Companion and sold it to a lady that was joining Sisters on the Fly. She loved it and it fit her perfectly. We are 99.9% done with a 62 or 63 Mobile Scout. It has been majorly improved with all electric appliances including Refrigerator, Microwave, Air Conditioning, Hot Water heater, Interior Lighting, LED exterior trailer lights, all new wiring, new hitch, and it is setup for park site power with 30AMP service. This trailer will be for sale in the future but right now my wife wants to enjoy it a little while. Our current project is improving a early 60's Shasta like the one in my Avatar. It has the wings to. We are going to set it up for park power, we have a turquoise propane stove for it which will match the table and counter top. I am also installing a microwave, refrigerator, roof AC, and electric hot water heater. We don't try t make museum trailers here, we just repair damage structure, including paneling, rewire, and add useful appliances. We want people to be able to afford them when we are done.
Our two next projects are a 60's Tag a Long, with shower and potty, I think I am keeping this one, and we have a 60's Sierro Scotty. They are a ways away from getting started on.
Well I look forward to learning from everyone so keep posting, I will be reading.
Thank, Rcimp

I, also am new to this forum but it is great to see the increasing interest in restoring and using vintage trailers for their intended purpose. When you consider that the lifespan of a canned ham in the late 50's early 60's was considered to be about ten years, and here we are a half century later still enjoying them, it is amazing.

Hello Rcimp,
How's it going? Good to see you in the group. I'm with you, good to see another, Shasta, site.
Your conversions sound great. Do you have any links with pictures you can share? I like how you are not tring to stay pure to the museum concept, campgrounds are much different today than they were back in the 50's and 60's, not as important to be as self sufficient, unless you're planning on camping off the grid.
I like your thumbnail pic.
Best regards, Doug
